| Q. "What do you eat on the boat?"
Erin: Our boat has a refrigerator and lots of room to store food. We eat the same food we eat at home mostly. Sometime though, when Mom stores the food too long in the nasty smelling bilge (the space under the floor boards) it tastes disgusting. When we are sailing in rough weather it is hard to make meals so we eat really simple foods like sandwiches, soup, tuna or yogurt. Q."Do you get sea-sick?" Katie: NO!!!!! I first started sailing when I was 2 weeks old so I dont get sea sick anymore. Q."What do you do on the boat all day?" Erin: Play games, take turns steering the boat, call other boats on the radio, watch out for dolphins and whales and sometimes jellyfish, watch movies, read books, color, listen to music, do puzzles and do school work. At night we watch for lights and markers in the water and look at stars. Q. "What about school?" Katie: We go to school on our boat now. Our teacher is Mom. I am working on multiplying and dividing decimals, spelling, science, history, geography, reading, sayings and phases and poetry. I have read many books by myself and my Mom has read many books to us out loud. Q. "Where have you gone so far?" Katie: Here are the places we have visited so far: MIchiganPentwater, Manistee, Frankfort, Charlevoix, Mackinaw Island, Harbor Beach, Port Huron, Wyandotte |
